One day Adam's father finds a Playgirl in his son's bathroom. Fearing his son is gay, Jonathan must examine his past and decide what his faith tells him is the proper way of dealing with him.God's Will is an interesting story that deals with the repercussion of being raised by a parent who not only takes every word of the Holy Bible literally, but uses the fear of God as a weapon to punish behavior that the Bible calls a sin. Rather than focus on the love that Jesus taught, Adam's father focuses on the rage of God. Rather than focus on the love for his son, Jonathan would rather focus on the hate he learned as a child. The story manages to do that and more.
If the story has one flaw, it's that it's too short. A story like this could easily be turned into a novella or even a full-length novel. But it uses the few pages it comprises very effectively. It's worth a read.

This short story had me very intrigued! It really punches you in the gut at the end! The sad thing about this story is that there are people who actually do this!
A modern tale of suspense,well written , and kept my interest and a twist ending ,good job from this writer !
This is the first story I've read by this author, and let me tell you, it won't be the last. It had a nice pace to it, kept me hooked from beginning to end, and it had a very twisted and shocking ending. Well done, Mr. Beers. Well done.
I was quite impressed with this short story. I generally do not like short stories because there isn't a well developed connection with the characters; however this proved to be an exception to the rule. The main character shares several memories of times with his father, whom he glorifies despite his abusive behaviors. My connection to the characters had been built so well that several of the memories made be cringe, tear up and/or look away. I look forward to more stories, both short and long, written by David Beers.
How bad can a religious fanatic mess up his kid? How far will that son go to to push religion on his kids? If you want to find out get this short story and enjoy.
Pretty good short story. Just shows what could happen with extremists in any fashion. This time it is a Christian. I have not been faced with this situation but have had other situations arise, but with a clear head things can be talked about. Took about ten minutes to read. And for free it's a good read.
This story made me mad. I hate stories like this. People and their stupid religious hang ups and petty hatred. I'd have missed out on some wonderful friends and family if I had been born and raised in this manner. Good writing. I'd recommend this story and author.
